When Greg and Jill McKenzie take on the search for missing 1914 records from the defunct Marathon Motor Works in Nashvile, they are told it could involve a 90-year-old murder. But the bodies they soon encounter are barely cold.

Their clients: old Air Force friend Col. Warren Jarvis and his girlfriend, Kelli Kane. Kelli believe her great-great-grandfather, a Marathon official, was framed for embezzlement and murdered.

Why is someone else trying to recover the records? Why silence the searchers? Things get complicated when:

• A skeptical TBI agent discounts the McKenzies' belief that the murders tie in with their case.

• Colonel Jarvis says he killed a man who threatened Kelli.

• A rich socialite targets Greg.

• Kelli Kane disappears.

Tension builds as the story rushes to an exciting conclusion.
